Transfer Switches: the specification
What we take
Open- and closed-transition automatic transfer switches, bypass-isolation switches, service-entrance rated ATS units, manual transfer switches, generator paralleling switchgear, and the controllers on their own. Units removed alongside a genset are worth quoting as a package.
What sets the number
Amperage, transition type, controller generation and whether the unit is service-entrance rated. A modern bypass-isolation switch with a current controller is high-value resale gear. An older unit with an obsolete logic board prices on its contactor assembly, copper and enclosure.
How we get it out
Lockout, cable disconnect at the gland, unbolt from the wall or floor stand, carry out. Small units go in a box truck; 4,000 A cabinets get a pallet jack and a liftgate.
